Globewell Partners today announced the acquisition of Empire Spares, a family owned Electricals and Spares company in Tameside who were established in 1989. Originally formed to supply spares to the trade, the company now carries over 15,000 different lines and have over 1000 appliances on show.
Globewell were able to offer the owner Chris Lord a cash exit from the business and a good retirement package while ensuring that the business remains in safe hands and grows under the new ownership. Ben quotes, “We are very excited for the future possibilities with Empire Spares. Chris has built an excellent business and it has become the leading spares and electrical supplier in the area. There are opportunities to significantly grow the business through digitalisation and developing the business’ ecommerce offering. We expect that we could 2-3x sales within 24 months with our ambitious growth plans.”
